Miss Soxee DJ sets embark on a musical journey through Jazz, funk, Soul, Disco, Broken Beat and House.
She first began circulating her eclectic sounds 11 years ago around Kings Cross, both at the former Ruby Lounge and Lincoln Lounge,
where she held a weekly residency, together with Ride on Time promotions to play a monthly set at The Cornershop in Shoreditch, East London.
Miss Soxee can be regularly found DJing at her musical home, The Vortex Downstairs bar in Hackney. It is also the same venue where she hosts and organises her monthly Open Decks event, a daytime party that encourages the humble music collector to the professional DJ to play their vinyl selection.
Miss Soxee also has a monthly radio show on Lowercase Sounds online station, broadcasting her own set and the other selectors, live from Open Decks.
She has made various guest appearances across the UK in Nottingham at the former Saltwater bar, supporting the now obsolete myhouseyourhouse.net birthday parties, The Haunt in Brighton, Simmons in Kings cross, Omeara in London Bridge and Mi Casa en Su Casa parties at Nomad in Islington.
Soxee is a strong advocate in always letting the music take predominance, especially when it comes to self promotion. She prefers to take the focus off from her own image and showcase music artwork, vinyl or turntables instead and is a firm believer of letting her music selection speak for itself.
